Switzerland: Marius Bear selected for Eurovision 2022 with “Boys do cry”

Marius Bear will represent Switzerland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022, with the song “Boys do cry”. His name was previously advanced as potential act by several local media, before the official announcement, done today by the Swiss broadcaster, SRF.

To select Marius SRF followed the format of the last years, with the internal election done by a profesional jury with experience in Eurovision and a demoscopic jury of 100 members. The decisition was taken by both to the 50%.

Marius Bear, 28 years old and from Appenzell Innerrhoden, is considered the best voice of the country by the national music industry, having won the “Best talent” prize in the Swiss Music Awards 2019, releasing his debut album that same year. In 2020 his cover of the Whitney Houston song, “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” impressed the audience of the TV show “I can see your voice” (RTL). Releasing on digital platforms, the song currently has over 3.4 million streams on Spotify. At the end of March will released the album “Boys do cry”, where is included his homonym song for Eurovision.

Marius will compete at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in the first half of the first semi-final , on 10th May.
