Switzerland: Has Marius Bear been selected for Eurovision 2022?

Before the official announcement of the Swiss act in Eurovision 2022, the news published by several national media suggest that Marius Bear would be the chosen representative.

According the info of Blick, the singer will release tomorrow his new single, named as the title of his next album “Boys do cry”, with a expected lenght less than three minutes. The premiere of the songs is usually on Friday and the song has a valid lenght for an ESC entry, so Marius could be the representative. As Blick adds, the singer will take a break of several weeks after the last concert of his tour, on 28th April, and the Swiss delegation will travel to Turin two days later.

Also 12points.ch reports that Marius has been filming with Jean-Marc Richard, Eurovision commentator for the French-language Swiss channel, RTS.

If Marius Bear will represent or not to Switzerland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 will be confirmed tomorrow, at 13:00 CET, when the Swiss entry will be announced on Eurovision Song Contest Youtube channel.

Marius Bear, 28 years old and from Appenzell Innerrhoden, is considered the best voice of the country by the national music industry, having won the “Best talent” prize in the Swiss Music Awards 2019, releasing his debut album that same year. In 2020 his cover of the Whitney Houston song, “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” impressed the audience of the TV show “I can see your voice” (RTL). Releasing on digital platforms, the song currently has over 3.4 million streams on Spotify. At the end of March will released the album “Boys do cry”.
