Head of delegations of the participating countries at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 have had this Monday an online meeting, organized by RAI as broadcaster host of the contest.
During the meeting several matters have been discused and revealed. As has announced Simona Martorell, Director of International Relations for RAI, and despite the crisis after the Russian invasion, the Ukrainian delegation, represented by the UA:PBC broadcaster, has confirmed that will participate in Turin on May, after to submit all documentation required to compete.
As Martorell has added, UA:PBC is having some difficults to film the “Live-on-tape”, the video with the backup performance to use in case that a delegation can’t attend the contest as happened with Australia in 2021.The Ukrainian broadcaster is trying to do it in a city near to the Polish border because it’s not possible in Kiev.
Also Claudio Fasulo, Deputy Director of RAI, has said that due to the current situation, peace will be a main theme of the Eurovision Song Contest with content focused on that leitmotif.
Claudio Fasulo, Deputy Director of RAI
The themes of peace will be at the center of this edition of Eurovision. We have three presenters who fill us with pride – Laura Pausini, Alessandro Cattelan and Mika – who are perfectly complementary and will bring a lot of themselves into the construction of the show. We want to bring important content to the event, which speaks of peace and are appropriate for this delicate moment.
The Eurovision Song Contest 2022 will beld on 10th,12th and 14th May, with Turin as host city.
