New photos and footage from Eurovision 1956, discovered thanks to the RSI archives
Last year the full video of the Lys Assia’s reprise was discovered thanks to the archives of Vincenzo Vicari, official photographer of the Eurovision Song Contest 1956. The archives included not only the footage but also several photos of the participants.
Now additional material has been discovered in the archives of the RSI, the Swiss broadcaster in Italian language, also from Vicari. The video of Lys Assia now includes reactions of the audience to the performances, but without sound. The material is complemented with 275 phot of the photographer taken during the rehearsals and the live show. The pics will be part of an upcoming issue of Eurovisionartists magazine, after receiving permission to publish them.
