This morning has been released the new song of Emma Muscat, “I Am what I am”. The song, as the national broadcaster, PBS, has confirmed on the social media, will be the Maltese entry in Turin.

Later the official music video of the song has been released on the Eurovision Song Contest youtube channel. Emma Muscat alongside Dino Medanhodzic, Julie Aagaard and Stine Kinck has created the new Maltese entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2022.

Thus “I Am What I Am” replaces to “Out of sight”, that it was the winning song of the national selection, Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2022 (MESC 2022), performed by Emma Muscat.

According the rules of the national selection, it was allowed to change the song to compete in Turin, and the singer has decided to use that option. Previously Ira Losco did the same to compete at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016: After her victory in the national selection with “Chameleon” she opted to compete in Stockholm with “Walk on water”.
