Eurovision 2022: Kalush Orchestra wins the contest representing Ukraine

The predictions of the bookmakers have come true and Ukraine has finally won the glass microphone of the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 thanks to the Kalush Orchestra and the song “Stefania”. For the country it represents its third victory in the contest after Ruslana with “Wild Dances”(2004) and Jamala with “1944” (2016).

Kalush Orchestra formed as an offshoot of the rap group Kalush, focused on blending modern hip-hop sounds with the motifs found in the traditional music and art of Ukraine. Together, Oleh Psiuk, Ihor Didenchuk, MC KylymMen, Tymofii Muzychuk, Vitalii Duzhyk, and Sasha Tab create a sound and vibe that all of Europe responded to tonight.

After the Ukrainian group, second place went to Sam Ryder as representative of the United Kingdom with “Space Man”, winner also of the jury voting, while Spain obtained third place with Chanel and “SloMo”countries ended with zero points last year. Last year, in Rotterdam, United Kingdom and Spain ended in the last place.

Last place was for the German representative, Malik Harris, while Italy, the host country, was sixth with Mahmood & Blanco. Amanda Tenjford, The Greek representative, was eighth.
