Armenia: Yerevan will be the host city of the Junior Eurovision 2022

During the meeting of the Armenian Goverment, the past Thursday, the venue and the host city of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2022 have been unveiled.

Nikol Pashinyan, Armenian Primer Minister, has announced that the event will be held at Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concerts Complex, with an allocation of funds of the Goverment to prepare the contest on it.

Located in the capital of the country, Yerevan, the complex is well-know by the eurofans because was the venue for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2011. Its capacity is between 6.000 and 8.000 seats for concerts.

Some weeks ago the EBU delegates and the AMRTV broadcaster, organizer of the contest, were met for the first time in Yerevan to begin the preparations of the 20th Junior Eurovision Song Contest. For now nine countries have confirmed their preliminary participation:

  • Armenia
  • Bulgaria
  • France
  • Georgia
  • Ireland
  • Netherlands
  • Russia
  • Poland
  • Spain

Armenia will organize the contest after the victory of its representative, Maléna, in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2021 with “Qami qami”.
