BCN Eurovision Party 2022: This was the first pre-Eurovision event in Barcelona
The first edition of the Eurovision event, BCN Eurovision Party, was held the past weekend. As the rest of the concerts prior to the Eurovision Song Contest 2022, it has counted with several artists of this edition of the contest.
As press member INFE Greece had the chance not only to take part of the concert but also the rest of the meetings with the guests of the event.
The agenda of the press started on Friday 25th March, with a photocall at a central hotel of Barcelona. Giuseppe Di Bella, host of the concert and backing dancer of Edurne at the Eurovision Song Contest 2015, was the first to pose for the media. After him Sunstroke Project (Moldova 2010 and 2017), Marta Roure (Andorra 2004), Subwoolfer (Norway), We Are Domi (Czech Republic 2022), Ronela Hajati (Albania 2022), Senhit (San Marino 2011,2020 and 2021), WRS (Romania 2022), The Roop (Lithuania 2020 and 2021), Monika Liu (Lithuania 2022) and Vladana (Montenegro 2022). Chanel, Spanish representative at the contest, closed the photocall being the one who aroused more expectation.
The photocall was followed of a cocktail in the same hotel where the media could talk and interact with the singers during some hours.
The next day, Saturday 26th March, the journalists from diferent sites and media were able to interview and take photos of the participants in the concert.
Rosa celebrates this year 20 years of her participation in the Eurovision Song Contest and did, with the collaboration of the Subwoolfer band (Norway 2022), the coreography of the song with which she represented Spain in Tallinn, “Europe’s Living a Celebration”.
Jamala, winner of Eurovision 2016, did a joint interview with the press media, speaking about the situation of her country invaded by Russia troops and the experiences lived not only by herself but also by her family and friends.
As it happened on Friday, Chanel, was one of the more expected artists. She did, as Jamala, a joint interview with all members of the press.
The concert, at Sala Apolo and hosted by Giuseppe Di Bella and Sharonne, started with Jamala, winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 2016. The performance of her winning song, “1944”, received the aplause and the warmth of the public. The Ukrainian singer has taken advance of her participation in the Eurovision events and national selections to promote her charity campaign to support and help her country.
During the concert was announced that Achille Lauro (San Marino 2022) finally would not perform due Covid-19 cases in his team.
Conchita Wurst started her performance with an acoustic version of “Rise Like A Phoenix”, her winning song at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014, followed of the several songs of her discography.
The concert finished with Chanel singing “SloMo”. Very excited by the warmth support of the public, she promised to bring the victory in the European music contest to Spain .
When the concert ended the fun was moved to the venue of the after-party, attending some of the participants in the concert such as WRS (Romania), Ronela Hajati (Albania) and Brooke (Ireland). When their Eurovision entries were played, they starting to sing and dance, alone or accompained by other Eurovision 2022 acts. This happened with WRS, singing “Llámame” with the Albanese Ronela Hajati.
