Corriere Torino newspaper has unveiled that the Eurovillage of Eurovision 2022 will open its doors on 6th May . Placed this year at the Parco del Valentino of Turin, the Eurovillage will be again a meeting point for delegations, Eurovision 2022 participants, eurofans and visitors of the city during the two weeks of the contest.
As Maria Luisa Coppa, President of Ascom Confcommercio, has explained to the Italian newspaper, the main plan, with the collaboration of the Turinese commerce chamber, is to create “A city opened 24 hours” with diferent ideas.
The proposals include the posibility to taste Piamontese appetisers and typical dishes acompained of a cup of wine or a “cocktail Maneskin” in bars and restaurants. Others options would be the ice creams and pasties that will be created specially for the contest, or the florists that would prepare places where the visitors will be able to take photos as was seen during Valentine’s Day.
Other idea presented would be conected with the music, not only about Eurovision. The shop windows would show, with photos, the music history of Italy and the city, courtesy of Toni Campa, from Le Roi, and his big visual archive.
“We are mounting all and the Eurovillage, directed by Francesco Astore, will be the beating heart of the events for the people of Turin”, explains Mimmo Carretta, councilor for major events of the Eurovision 2022 host city.
