San Marino: Achille Lauro will compete in Eurovision 2022 with “Stripper”

Some weeks ago Achille Lauro competed in Sanremo 2022 with the wish to win the contest and participate in the Eurovision Song Contest 2022. Now the wish has been fullfilled because he was yesterday the winner of the Sanmarinese national selection , “Una voce per San marino”.

31 years old and from Verona , Achille Lauro (Lauro de Maniris) started his music career as rapper but he has experimented with other music styles as the rock or the pop, having released eight studio album, reaching with the last, “Lauro”,the number one in sales. Apart this year, previously he participated in Sanremo from 2019 to 2021.

Competing against other nine artists from “Emergenti” category (new talents) and other eight from “Big” category (established) the singer performed the song “Stripper”. A title of “Glam rock” that it remember us the style of the Eurovision 2021 winner, Måneskin.

As the previously shows the winner of the Sanmarinense selection was done using only the jury voting. The jury was composed by :

Senhit (San Marino 2011,2020 and 2021) was the host of show, accompained of the actor and television personality, Jonathan Kashanian. Albano, Italian music legend and representative of that country in Eurovision two times, performed several songs, including his Eurovision entry in 1976 or “I cigni di Balaka”. Other performance of the night was the duet of Senhit and Valentina Monetta (San Marino 2013,2014 and 2017) singing “Maybe“ (San Marino 2014) and “Freaky“ (San Marino 2020).
