The EBU announced, somedays ago, that it was continuing to investigate the matter of irregularities in the voting of the jury of six countries, had led it to cancel this voting in the Second Semifinal and Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2022.

Through a statement, the European body has released its final resolution about that, keeping these votes suspended and therefore the results of the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 Grand Final.

According to the statement, the EBU, together with the independent Pan American voting partner, detected irregularities in the votes of the jury from six participating countries in the Second Semifinal: Azerbaijan, Georgia, Montenegro, Poland, Romania and San Marino.

Their percentages in the voting determined, according to the investigations, that among these irregularities would be the favoring of these countries during the voting, giving each other the highest scores.

Following the regulations about that, EBU decided that these votes would be discarded of the results in the Second Semifinal, replaced in each case by a voting that imitated the pattern used in each of the countries during the last years. The procedure was used again in the Final to avoid the same problem.

The statement explains that these decisions were approved by the Chair of the Eurovision Song Contest Reference Group, the Contest’s governing board, and the Deputy Director General of the EBU in line with the requirements of the Voting Instructions during the shows of the contest.

EBU ends the statement confirming that the score and place of each participant in the Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 keep equal.
