“Μeet the Artists” – GERMANY: Ann Sophie
O εθνικός τελικός της Γερμανίας Unser Song für Österreich είχε πολλά ευτράπελα. Αφενός τα καυστικά σχόλια της παρουσιάστριας για την χώρα μας, και αφετέρου την επιλογή του κομματιού που θα εκπροσωπήσει την Γερμανία στον διαγωνισμό.
Ενώ το κοινό αποφάσισε πως νικητήριο τραγούδι ήταν το “Heart of Stone” με ερμηνευτή τον Andreas Kümmert, ο ίδιος αρνήθηκε να πάει στην Βιέννη και έτσι η Γερμανία στέλνει την Ann Sophie με το τραγούδι Black Smoke, το οποίο ήρθε δεύτερο στην προτίμηση του κόσμου.
Η Ann Sophie Dürmeyer, γνωστή ως Ann Sophie, γεννήθηκε στο Λονδίνο από Γερμανούς γονείς, στις 1/09/1990. Σε νεαρή ηλικία όμως μετακόμισε με την οικογένεια της στην Γερμανία και εγκαταστάθηκαν στο Αμβούργο. Σπούδασε μπαλέτο, και το 2010, αποφάσισε να πάει στην Νέα Υόρκη και να φοιτήσει στο Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute.
Το 2012, έβγαλε το πρώτο της single, “Get Over Yourself”.
Στον τελικό της Γερμανίας, διαγωνίστηκε με 2 κομμάτια, το “Jump the Gun”, και το “Black Smoke”, με το οποίο τελικά θα διαγωνιστεί στην Βιέννη.
Το κομμάτι είναι pop με soul επιρροές.
Η Γερμανία διαγωνίζεται κατευθείαν στον τελικό, στις 23 Μαίου, μιας και ανήκει στις BIG5 χώρες.
